Discourse on the death penalty is only a 'gimmick' to cover the decline in the eradication of corruption

IMPARSIAL Researcher Hussein Ahmad said the discourse on the implementation of the death penalty for corruptors by the leaders of law enforcement agencies was merely a gimmick. Recently, this discourse has been echoed by Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin and KPK Chair Firli Bahuri.

"This is just a gimmick to cover up the failure of both of them over the decline in public trust in the two institutions in carrying out law enforcement, especially the problem of eradicating corruption," Hussein said in a written statement to Media Indonesia, Thursday (2/12).
