JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Imparsial Director Gufron Mabruri asked the Chief of Army Staff (KSAD) General Military Andika Perkasa to strengthen inter-dimensional stability after President Joko Widodo appointed him as the military commander.

"TNI (The Indonesian Military) has a lot of homework to fix, one of which is internal consolidation which is important to do," said Gufron when contacted by Kompas.com, Wednesday (11/3/2021).

According to Gufron, it is important for Andika to strengthen between dimensions.

Bearing in mind that the promotion of Andika as the commander itself is not in accordance with the rotation as regulated in Law (UU) Number 34 of 2004 regarding the military.

The said law states that the commander can be handshaken alternately.

Technically, Gufron said, referring to the regulation, the replacement for the commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto should have been the Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono.

Moreover, prior to Hadi's leadership in the air force, there were already two officers from the army who became commanders, namely General (Ret.) Moeldoko and General (Ret.) Gatot Nurmantyo.

Meanwhile, the last time the commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) was occupied by marine personnel in 2010-2013, namely Admiral (Ret.) Agus Suhartono. With this appointment, said Gufron, the Ground Army has increasingly dominated its dimensions. "In fact (the application of rotational changes) is important to do to show equality between dimensions," said Gufron.

On the other hand, Gufron considered that this appointment could not be separated from the political factors surrounding Andika's environment.

For example, the factor of the father-in-law, Hendropriyono, who is a former Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) and the factor of his proximity to the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto.

Previously, Andika was appointed as TNI commander by Jokowi. This was known after Jokowi sent a presidential letter (surpres) to the Indonesian Board of Citizen Representatives (DPR), Wednesday (11/3/2021).

The contents of this surpres contain the name of Andika as a replacement for the Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto.

This letter was sent through the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno which was received directly by the Chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani.

Puan emphasized that there was only one name that Jokowi proposed in the suppression.

"Therefore, today through the Minister of State Secretary, the President has submitted a presidential letter regarding the proposed candidate for the Commander to the Indonesian House of Representatives on behalf of General Andika Prakasa," said Puan, Wednesday.
